Hi y’all! I’m rather new to color theory and have been attempting to discover my own seasonal color palette without spending anything upfront since I’m on a narrow budget. I’ve taken various free online color analysis quizzes so far, but I’ve noticed that the results they give tend to be all over the place or pretty unclear, which makes me question how useful they really are. Some say I’m a Soft Summer, others suggest a Deep Winter, and a couple just give generic advice like “try warm colors”. It’s a bit frustrating since I was hoping these quizzes would help me understand which shades actually match my skin tone and undertones.
I recently found this curated list of free color analysis quizzes that includes user ratings, so it looks helpful as a more trustworthy starting point. I’m sharing it here in case it might help others in a same boat: soft winter . Before diving in, I want to hear from people with expertise—are there any free quizzes you would actually recommend that gave you useful insights? Or are there common pitfalls I should watch out for, such as tests that push you toward a paid version or quizzes that rely too heavily on lighting conditions or photos that can affect results?
Also, if you have tips on how to understand quiz results critically or ways to cross-check outcomes without paying for professional analysis, that would be really helpful. Thanks in advance for any advice, recommendations, or warnings—just hoping to find something helpful without emptying my wallet at this stage!
